Ginger Eways
Executive Director           

Ginger EwaysAs executive director, Ginger Eways oversees Mission Granbury’s daily operations and works  with executive staff and Board members to develop and achieve long-term goals for the organization. She is responsible for leading the organization’s success. She gives direction to Mission Granbury’s efforts by shaping vision and organizational strategy. She also oversees all fiscal, administrative, and program operations and represents the organization in the community.

Prior to joining the Mission Granbury team, Ms. Eways served as director of the North Texas Area Information Center for the North Texas United Way in Wichita Falls, Texas. There, she managed operation of a comprehensive information and referral system for 11 counties in the area, administered data projects, and created marketing and advertising strategies for special programs. Ms. Eways is former executive director for the Central East Austin Community Organization and former overarching executive director of Hay’s County Women’s Center in San Marcos, LIFE Independent Living Center in Lubbock, and Rape Crisis Center in Austin.

Ms. Eways holds both Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. In addition, she earned her Non-Profit Management Certificate from Texas Tech University in Lubbock and her Fundraising Management Certificate from the University of Texas at Austin.

Ms. Eways is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Margie Messina
Director, Outreach and Education

Margie MessinaAs the Outreach and Education Director of Mission Granbury, Ms. Messina manages violence prevention education, including school-based programs. She directs comprehensive community awareness activities to elevate community knowledge of issues such as family violence, child abuse, and poverty in Hood County. Ms. Messina also directs comprehensive volunteer and intern programs at the agency level.

In addition to her role at Mission Granbury, Ms. Messina maintains her job as a prosecutor for the City of Granbury, where she has worked since 1992. Ms. Messina spent over 15 years at the law firm Messina and Hughes, where she gained extensive experience in general civil practice with an emphasis on family law.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Arlington, Ms. Messina holds a Bachelor of Social Work. After receiving that degree in 1981, she went on to complete law school and earned her Juris Doctor from Baylor University Law School in Waco. She is certified by the State Bar of Texas.

Ms. Messina served on the Board of Directors for Mission Granbury from 2005 to 2008 and has volunteered with CASA since 2007. She has been married to Vincent Messina, a civil trial judge in Granbury, since 1986. Residents of Hood County since 1987, they have one son and two daughters.



Jean Cate
CASA Program Director           

Jean CateJean Cate is CASA Program Director, overseeing activities for Court Appointed Special Advocates of Hood and Somervell. She recruits, trains, and supervises a pool of over 30 dedicated CASA volunteers. In coordination with other program directors, Ms. Cate also develops and implements an annual operating plan.

Before coming to Mission Granbury, Ms. Cate functioned as Vice President of the Lake Granbury Area Chamber of Commerce where she was responsible for membership, special events, fundraising, public relations, and management of volunteers.

Ms. Cate, an avid volunteer herself, has served on numerous community service committees, including as Chairman of the Granbury Parks and Recreation Board for the past 14 years and Chairman of the Community Resource Coordination Group. Ms. Cate has also served on the board at Hood Somervell Children’s Advocacy Center and at City of Granbury Charter Review. She was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Lake Granbury Chamber of Commerce, its highest accolade, in 2004 and was named The Hood County News Woman of the Year in 2008.

Ms. Cate and Charlie, her husband of 52 years, reside in Granbury, Texas, where they have raised seven children. While not working at Mission Granbury, she enjoys being active in her community, reading, and traveling.




Marti Barber
Operations Support Director

Marti BarberMs. Barber is Operations Support Director for Mission Granbury. She directs a wide variety of development and marketing support services in close coordination with the executive director and various volunteer leadership committees. She serves as a resource for staff IT needs, provides administrative support (including human resources management), and maintains all Mission Granbury administrative records. Ms. Barber also manages activities for state, federal, corporate, and foundation grants for the executive office and provides operations support for special projects.

Prior to joining Mission Granbury, Inc., Ms. Barber was a management training coordinator for Mobil Oil Corp. in Dallas, Texas for ten years. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of North Texas in Denton.

Ms. Barber and her husband Ray have lived in Granbury since 1998.




Mary Davis
Director, Victim Assistance and Case Management

Mary DavisAs victim assistance and case management director, Mary Davis oversees all victim assistance and emergency assistance client services. She is responsible for directing all aspects of the comprehensive family violence shelter program at the Ada Carey Center for Women and Children. Ms. Davis serves as a resource on all issues concerning family violence, sexual assault, victim assistance, and supervises case management and crisis intervention.

For almost ten years prior to joining Mission Granbury, Ms. Davis was the Director of Homelessness Services for over 2 years.There she provided peer counseling, performed case management services, and supervised all aspects of the shelter, including training managers, interns, and volunteers. Ms. Davis also has experience working as a senior tax professional for Jackson Hewitt in Cleburne.
