Our Mission: “Mission Granbury operates programs that provide resources for individuals and families in need or in crisis.”
Our Vision: “Mission Granbury envisions a community free of violence, poverty, and hunger with resources available to individuals and families as necessary to achieve long-term stability.” Mission Granbury’s staff continues to work tirelessly to achieve this goal. Despite many setbacks and challenges (including the May 15, 2013 tornado disaster, staff changes, and an increasing number of clients in need) the agency’s personnel continue to provide the necessary services for this community.
Mission Granbury is the largest 501(c)3 organization in Hood County. As a rural community, there is a large service gap for social supportive services. We provide a safety net for people in Hood, Somervell, Parker and Erath Counties and the growing overflow from other surrounding counties. We offer a total of seven programs that minister to the needs of people in crisis:
The Family Violence Shelter (The Ada Carey Center) – served 298 families;
The Victim’s Assistance Program – served 911 victims;
The Child Advocacy Program (Court Appointed Special Advocates [CASA] program) – served 168 children;
The Emergency Assistance Program – served 12,081 families;
The Food Pantry – served 9,131 families;
The Disaster Services program – served 269 families and 707 individuals.

Mission Granbury is governed by a Board of Directors made up of key people in our community. Our staff and our many volunteers are well-trained in their areas of responsibilities and we hold all the needed accreditations.
In accomplishing our mission, Mission Granbury affiliates with many other community agencies and churches to minimize duplication and maximize cost-effective service to our clients.
We are proud of our recent accomplishments. Last year, Hood County designated us the lead agency to coordinate tornado relief efforts and we have taken the lead role in ministering to homeless residents of the County. In order to carry out our varied responsibilities, we maintain credentials in many fields.
While we are providing a high level of service to our clients, the need keeps growing. Not only do we continue to have more clients, we also see a need for additional services. You can see the initiatives we plan to undertake as our budget permits by clicking here.
